Sisterhood NewsMen’s Club, Irving BurdayShalom,As I sit here writing my first bulletin article I sit andwonder what my first year will hold as president. Iam just settling back into reality after spending twomonths as head nurse at Camp Pembroke. Eventhough I was not around for two months, I was updatedon the amazing card party that was held in August.Kudos to Susan Savy and Beth Hoffman as well astheir committee for running an incredible evening. Wehad over 95 women who came to play mah jong andother games.This year I am sure will be an adventure and I amgrateful for new starts with an incredibly dedicatedgroup of woman who are committed to the mission ofSisterhood and of Temple Ner Tamid. September alwayscomes with a fresh start and new and excitingopportunities for both young and old. Kids are excitedto get back to school and parents are excited to havethem back at school as well. I sit here and can not believeall the new and exciting things going on at TempleNer Tamid. As Septemberrolls around I want to wish all of you L’ Shanah Tovaand a happy and healthy new year. This upcomingyear I am looking forward to working with all levels ofthe Men’s Club to create a full slate of events and activitiesthat will serve and enrich the lives of templemembers, Men’s Club membership, and those in oursurrounding communities. The Men’s Club will continueto focus on those actions that support the holidays,Men’s Club social events and community basedprograms and we look forward to working togetherwith our new Rabbi, the Sisterhood and other templegroups during the upcoming year.As the new president, I look forward to working withthe executive board and board of directors to build uponthe strong foundation that was constructed by ourprior leaders. We will continue to improve and extendthe events and activities that we have traditionallyoverseen and will also strive to add new events thatwill both engage Men’s Clubs participants as well astemple members. To that end, I and the executiveboard will personally reach out to our membership toencourage their participation and we openly welcomeanyone that is interested in joining or contributing tothe Men’s Club.
