This Is Catawba CollegeADMISSIONInquiries regarding admission to Catawba College arealways warmly welcomed. If you are interested in joiningthe Catawba community, you should apply for admissionanytime after your sixth semester of high school.Catawba follows the usual guidelines for “rollingadmissions” and, therefore, has no closing date for acceptingapplications. Applying early will ensure an earlyresponse from the college.In your application, you are asked to provide a widevariety of information relating to your academic and cocurricularbackground. This information is used to helpdetermine your potential to profit from, as well as contributeto, the Catawba community.You must complete a minimum of 16 units of highschool course work, 12 of which should be in academicsubjects. And that relationshipcontinues insmall, twice-weeklyclasses during the entire first semester.SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCEThe South Atlantic Conference is a group ofnine church-related colleges of similar size andathletic philosophy. As an all-sports conference,the league has grown into one of the premiersmall-college athletic conference in thenation.The 1993-94 year was extremely special in that the conferencebecame fully affiliated with the NCAA Division IIand is now eligible for national championships opportunitiesin all of its 14 sponsored sports.NCAA DIVISION IIThe National Collegiate AthleticAssociation is the organization through whichthe nation’s colleges and universities speakand act on athletic matters at the national level.It is a voluntary association of more than 1,000institutions, conferences, organizations and individualsdevoted to the sound administration of intercollegiate athletics.
