On the most inclement of days the Cascada’s duallayeredBlack fabric roof will keep you warm and dry. It takes just 17 seconds to openand 19 seconds to close. You can even operate it on the move – at speeds of up to30 miles per hour. Top up or top down you’re free to enjoy all weather knowingthat when the sunshine makes a comeback, the convertible experience is onlymoments away.You can also choose an optional triple-layered acoustic fabric roof available in threecolours – Black, Sweet Mokka and Malbec. SAFETY FIRST. SECOND.AND THIRDSafety is a number one priority in every car, which is why everyCascada benefits from a reassuring array of safety technology. Frontand side airbags, reinforced steel windscreen pillars and the pop-uproll-over bar system are designed to help keep you safe should theunthinkable happen.1218

1. Reinforced chassis and safety cage. A substantiallyreinforced chassis improves stability, while reinforcedtubular-steel pillars give the front section extra rigidity.Combined with the Cascada’s high-strength, steelpassenger safety cell, these features enhance the overallsafety of the car and improve steering response.2. Comprehensive roll-over protection. One of the mostimportant safety features in the Cascada is one you’reextremely unlikely to ever see: the steel roll-over bars andsafety cage behind the rear seats. If the car should roll over,the bars react instantaneously, accelerating upwards to helpprotect you and your passengers from the impact.Active-safety front seat head restraints. In addition tothe roll-over bars, the Cascada also comes with active headrestraints that automatically move forward and upwards tohelp minimise the risk of whiplash injury and guard againstother head and upper body injuries.19

HEADLIGHTSWITH FORESIGHTThe Cascada can be equipped with the verylatest Bi-Xenon Adaptive Forward LightingPlus (AFL+) headlight system as an option.This uses a front-mounted camera, rainsensor and steering angle input to improvevisibility and safety by automaticallyadjusting the strength of your headlights tosuit different speeds, manoeuvres, weatherconditions and traffic situations.LED daytime running lights. Part of the optional Premium Forward Lighting Pack, the intelligentAFL+ headlight system comes with energy-efficient LEDs that make your car more visible to otherroad users.20

Pedestrian area light. Illuminatespotential hazards with a wider spreadof light – an extra eight degrees leftand right (up to 20mph).Town light. Spreads the beam of lightwider and lower. Activated by vehiclespeed together with street lighting(20-35mph).Country road light. Wider spreadand brighter light than normal lowbeam. 70-metre range, without dazzle(35-70mph).Motorway light. 140-metre range,higher and brighter than normal lowbeam, without dazzle (over 60mph).Adverse weather light. Wiper orrain sensor activated for better vision inbad weather conditions (up to 45mph).High beam assist. Automaticallyswitches from high to low beam as itdetects vehicles ahead or oncoming. Inaddition, high beam boosts the rangeand brightness of your headlights byup to 15% (over 25mph).Dynamic curve light. Activatedby steering angle and speed, theheadlights swivel up to 15 degreesinto the bend (any speed).Static cornering light. Spreads light90 degrees to the left or right to helpyou see better around corners (up to25mph, also when reversing).21

NOTHING LEFT TO CHANCEBy introducing a range of state-of-the-art electronic driver aids we’ve made driving theCascada easier and safer. The innovative front camera system reads the road and informsyou about what’s ahead.1. Traffic Sign Recognition. This clever feature makessure you’re constantly made aware of speed limits, eventemporary ones. It continually monitors road signs, andgives you a warning if you unintentionally stray over thelimit. It can even read and display motorway electronic signsrelated to speed limits like rain or snow warnings.2. Lane Departure Warning. This system uses the frontcamera system to recognise lane marking lines. If thevehicle leaves its lane without you signalling, an audiblewarning sound is given. This helps prevent potentialaccidents and makes you aware of your concentrationlevels or tiredness.3. Following Distance Indication (FDI) and ForwardCollision Alert (FCA). FDI constantly shows the distanceto the leading vehicle on the instrument panel, helping youto maintain a safe distance. In addition, FCA (active atspeeds above 25mph) warns you visually and audibly if youapproach a slower-moving vehicle too quickly. It will thenuse Automatic Brake Intervention technology to apply thebrakes, slowing the car to as little as 10mph if required.All three of these features are available as part of theDriver Assistance Pack, optional at extra cost.4. Side Blind Spot Alert. The system helps prevent apotential collision with a vehicle in the lane either side of thecar by continuously monitoring both blind spots. If a vehicleenters one of those blind spots, a warning light flashes inthe relevant door mirror. Available as part of the optionalPerimeter Protection Pack.1 2 3 422

IMPROVE YOURDRIVETIMERoof up or roof down, an audio systemwith six speakers and digital radio fillsthe Cascada with sound. And with USBconnectivity and Bluetooth ® togetherwith the availability of satellite navigationsystems you’re guaranteed to be keptinformed and up to date while on the move.24CD 400. Standard on both models, also features DMBdigital radio. This means digital quality sound, a broaderrange of stations, easier to find by name and improved trackdisplay info on some stations. It also features 20 watts perchannel output with six speakers and a graphic informationdisplay, Both models feature aux-in and USB connection soyou can plug in your MP3 player, smartphone or USB stickto the sound system and access the contents via the centreconsole or steering wheel remote controls. 1

PRACTICAL FEATURES.MODERN SOLUTIONSThe Cascada is a four-seater that is available with a whole range of practical features thatyou wouldn’t expect to find in a convertible.1 23261. Rear view camera. This option makes reversing easy, even with the roof up. A high-res display shows the area behindthe car while a scaled grid helps you to judge the distance to previously hidden objects.2. Electric rear seat easy entry system. This practical feature automatically moves the front seat forward so thatpassengers can access the rear seats. Available as part of the Power Seat Pack on Elite models.3. Electronic front seatbelt presenters. No detail is too small. That’s why every Elite model is fitted with electronic frontseatbelt presenters as standard. These motorised arms automatically move the seat belt forward to meet your hand, soyou don’t have to twist round in your seat.4. FlexFold automatic rear seat folding system. You’ll find the 380 litre capacity boot more than useful. FlexFoldtransforms the Cascada into a two-seater that can take up to 750 litres of luggage, including items up to 1.8 metres long.Fold one or both of the 50/50 split rear seatbacks flat with the touch of a switch. 4

THE POWER TOIMPRESSThe Cascada performs as well as it looks thanks to arange of petrol and diesel engines. Whichever optionyou choose, you’re guaranteed a dynamic experienceeverytime you get behind the wheel.There’s a choice of two petrol engines; a 140PS 1.4i 16v VVT Turbo and anadvanced direct injection unit mated to a six-speed automatic – the all-new1.6i 16v SIDI Turbo produces 170PS and up to 260Nm of torque. The Cascada’s leather sports front seats adjustto suit your posture. Both front seats feature electric lumbar support adjustmentplus cushion tilt and an extendable seat cushion. Better still, they have won theAGR* seal of approval for helping to prevent the in-car back pain and tension thatsome people experience. Standard on Elite models, optional on SE as part of theLeather Seat Pack which also includes a heated steering wheel.1. Premium Nappa leather. Elite models can be specified with Brandy NappaLeather seat upholstery.
