The OneStor SP2224s is designed for maximum IOPS atminimum energy consumption. This is achieved by utilizing enterprise-class 2.5” Small Form Factor (SFF)drives, which provides twice the IOPS per unit of rack storage when compared to the same number of 3.5”SAS drives. As the industry makes this important transition to SFF technology, Xyratex is leading the wayto higher IOPS density and more efficient use of data center floor tile space.Xyratex Advancing 6Gb/s SASThe Xyratex implementation of 6Gb/s SAS offers a number of significant improvements to 3Gb/s SASover and above the doubling of the data transfer rate from 3 Gb/s to 6Gb/s. These include support andcapabilities for longer cable lengths, active cables, universal ports, self configuration, and standardizedzoning. Xyratex supports 6Gb/s SAS in end-to-end configurations providing an effective maximumthroughput of 7.2 GB/s per I/O module or 14.4 GB/s in a dual controller configuration, enough to supportthe highest performing solid state storage devices.Delivering a Versatile and Scalable ArchitectureAs a member of the OneStor family, the SP2224s leverages the reuse of interchangeable FRUs, a commonenclosure management and SBB 2.0 compatibility. This enables OEMs to accelerate market introductionof new technologies and also significantly simplifies development and testing of storage implementationswhile reducing overhead.Assuring Robust Data AvailabilityThrough its intelligent Genesis Enclosure Management (GEM), OneStor ESP safeguards data and ensuresmaximum availability. Users are able to leverage fault diagnosis and resolution capabilities, persistent errorlogging and monitoring.
