Request for Proposal (RFP) for Consultant Services in Administering a Workers’Compensation Program in <strong>West</strong> <strong>Virginia</strong>In anticipation <strong>of</strong> BRIM being given the responsibility <strong>of</strong> administering a workers’compensation program starting July 1, 2011, we will issue an RFP or RFQwithin the next two weeks.BRIM management staff has met with Ed Poe, Jeff Brannon, and Lisa Hunter <strong>of</strong>Pullin Fowler Flanagan Brown and Poe PLLC to discuss the specifics.A target date <strong>of</strong> October 29 th has been set as the release date.3. Request for Proposal (RFP) for Providing Environmental Contaminationand Pollution Insurance for Certain <strong>State</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>West</strong> <strong>Virginia</strong> Owned PropertiesRFP #RIM081010This RFP is soliciting proposals to provide insurance for certain <strong>State</strong>-ownedproperties for environmental contamination and pollution for the remainder <strong>of</strong>fiscal year July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, with possible two successiveannual renewals . The property to which this RFP specifically applies is thatwhich is described in the Donation Agreement dated October 15, 2009, betweenUnion Carbide Corporation (UCC) and the <strong>West</strong> <strong>Virginia</strong> Higher EducationPolicy Commission (HEPC).Proposals are due by October 12, and the contract will be awarded onOctober 15, 2010.4. Renewal <strong>of</strong> Casualty Insurance Program with ChartisThis renewal was effective July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, with thepossibility <strong>of</strong> four subsequent renewal periods. The cost <strong>of</strong> services is$3,840,000 for FY 2011. The cost <strong>of</strong> services for FY 2010 was $4,098,723, foran annual savings <strong>of</strong> $258,723, or monthly savings <strong>of</strong> $21,560.25, in FY 2011vs. FY 2010.Beginning this month, we should start experiencing a $20,000.00 per quartersavings in Chartis administrative fees.5. Excess Liability for County Boards <strong>of</strong> EducationThe incumbent carrier for the Board <strong>of</strong> Education Excess LiabilityCoverage, GenStar, submitted a renewal quote for $2,159,667. Instead,an RFP was released and four carriers submitted bids. After careful
