Instead of asingle orifice they have an entry andan exit orifice. Cleaning of the internalchamber can be a problem. Pressurerequirements are 2–4 bar. While theyare a better option than conventionalnozzles, they still produce a lot ofdriftable fines, especially when used athigher pressures.NOZZLE TYPE AND DESCRIPTION SIZE RANGE, MATERIAL SPRAY ANGLEagrotopTipCapALBUZ AXIXR TeeJet ®NOZZLE TYPE AND DESCRIPTION SIZE RANGE, MATERIAL SPRAY ANGLEagrotop XCTurboDropTurboTeeJet ® AI(TTI)• Tip and cap combined• 1.5–3 bar pressure range• Conventional flat-fan• Croplands recommended range: 1.5–3 bar• Flat-fan tapered type• 1–4 bar pressure range (manufacturer)• Croplands recommended range: 1.5–3 bar• M to C in 05 to 08 Size• Air-induction nozzle• 3–7 bar pressure range• 99% drift reduction• Air-induction nozzle• Anvil-type• 1–7 bar pressure range (manufacturer)• Croplands recommended range: 2–7 bar• 99% drift reduction• 02 to 10 sizes• All polymer• 110°• 015 to 05 sizes• 110°• Pink ceramic• **015 to 08 sizes• Polymer tip• 110°• **02 to 08 sizes• Ceramic tip, polymer body• 110°• 01 to 10 sizes• Polymer• 110°• **015 to 06 sizes• Polymer tip• 110°CERAMIC3x as durableConventionalnozzlesConventional nozzles are the simplestand cheapest design of nozzle witha single orifice only. They produce aFINE spray quality. The main advantageof conventional nozzles is their lowpressure requirement (1.5–3 bar)and their proven performance withinsecticides and fungicides. However, they are also the main producers ofdriftable fines and should be avoided.Nozzles forEXTREMELY COARSESpray QualityIn some instances avoiding drift isparamount. The amount of driftablefines must be greatly reduced or almosteliminated. Few nozzles are designedfor this purpose. They will producegreat efficacy with translocatedproducts (eg. 2,4-D or glyphosate) onlarge targets. In these situations thesenozzles can be used with confidence. On smaller targets, especially withlow water volumes, efficacy is stillquestionable and current adviceremains to use them only if drift controlis paramount over efficacy.29
