We as a team did not wrestleas well as we could have against them,however we match up against theSpartans again this weekend at the<strong>District</strong> Team Championship. I’mlooking forward to that match,” saidhead coach Lou DeLauro.“I personally think <strong>Valley</strong> West’smatch was a step in the right direction,and that they are the team to beat. I hopethat that is a preview of how we performat our district tournamnet this weekend,”said senior captain Jalen Palmer.Collegiate UpdatesAt <strong>Delaware</strong> <strong>Valley</strong>, Martin Strenk had a reputation of beingan athletic powerhouse excelling in football, lacrosse andwrestling. This past year, Strenk decided to take his talentsto Division III Williams College and wrestle. At the 174 poundweight class, Strenk has 13 wins under his belt as a freshmanand has defeated opponents of national ranking. “Thetransition from high school to college is different as a wrestlerbecause you have to learn to manage your free time, aWlongwith cutting weight and your class schedule,” said Strenk.Abington started the secondquarter with a press against DV,falling back into a 1-3-1 defense.This made it tougher for theWarriors to score, but two lay upswere made by freshman HannahGallagher, both assisted by Peters.The half ended with the Warriorsdown by one 12-13.Opening up the second halfAbington scored 12 points againstthe Lady Warriors 2-3 zone defense,ending the quarter with a score of12-25.In the fourth quarter, Peters andAragona both scored two points each.“They played very well in thefirst half but lost composure in second halfand could not score,” said head coach AlHoltzer.SPOTLIGHTATHLETEPJ Testino, JUNIOR“PJ has been wrestling very wellfor us lately and won the matchfor our team against Wyoming<strong>Valley</strong> West with a pin.”-Coach Lou DeLauroSPOTLIGHTATHLETEHannah Gallagher, FRESHMANAmber Tooley“Hannah is improving withevery game and working hard inpractice.”-Coach Al HoltzerAmber Tooley is a freshman at Temple University majoringin pre-health. Being a collegiate athlete, Tooley admits thatcheering for a D1 school is like having a full time job. Thetransition for her was tough at first managing her crazyschool schedule and cheer, but she wouldn’t give up beinga cheerleader for anything. For all of the seniors planningon playing a sport in college Tooley says, “Make sure youmanage your time.
