This means that there has been woodland on this sitecont<strong>in</strong>ually for the last 400 years.There are two Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) with<strong>in</strong> the<strong>Estate</strong>. These are Broughton Alder Wood, a 2.03 acre site firstdesignated <strong>in</strong> 1986 and is located at the western extremity of Lot3. Alder Woodland is a scarce habitat <strong>in</strong> <strong>North</strong> L<strong>in</strong>colnshire.The second SSSI is comb<strong>in</strong>ed of two sites totall<strong>in</strong>g 41.7 acres,first notified <strong>in</strong> 1957. Far Wood forms part of Lot 4 and has beendesignated as a SSSI due to its varied plant life. Copies of eachdesignation are available from the vendor’s agents.Woodland Grant SchemeThe <strong>Estate</strong> has previously benefited from a Woodland GrantScheme, further details of which are available from the vendor’sagent.Sport<strong>in</strong>g RightsThe sport<strong>in</strong>g rights on Lots 1, 2, 3 and 5 are, exclud<strong>in</strong>g deer, letunder licence until 2 February 2009.The sport<strong>in</strong>g rights on Lot 4 are let until 2022, aga<strong>in</strong>, exclud<strong>in</strong>gdeer.Deer stalk<strong>in</strong>g is, therefore, <strong>in</strong> hand across the <strong>Estate</strong> with somegood quality roe and muntjac shoot<strong>in</strong>g with occasional fallow deerpresent.TenureOutside the sport<strong>in</strong>g rights, Rose Cottage is let under licence andwill be vacant from 2 February 2009.The car park <strong>in</strong> Lot 3 is leased to <strong>North</strong> L<strong>in</strong>colnshire DistrictCouncil for 21 years from June 1995.
