Two work products were then reviewed: Data summary charts and an ICFDD brochure.ICF/DD Data Charts:Members reviewed and critiqued the content and presentation of the data charts. Seeattachment 1.• Technical changes were made to the documents such as removing cost data that wereincomplete.• Other suggestions included:- Create an external presentation of the data in addition to the internal data.- Update vacancy data monthly for members as well as other stakeholders (i.e.local placement coordinators, APD officials, etc.).- Include data about public ICF/DD facilities for internal purposes.Members were also encouraged to review a comparison chart on ICFDD bed vacanciescompared to types of facility. See attachment 2.ICF/DD Brochure:• Florida ARF has created a brochure as a tool to inform consumers about ICFDDs andthe brochure will be handed out at events such as the Family CAFÉ. See Attached pdffile. The brochure will explain that ICFDDs are community residential alternatives andshould not be considered institutional placements. Members reviewed and critiqued thebrochure and offered suggestions.• Other suggestions included:Family Café:- Create an insert which will explain consumers’ “Right to Placement.”- Include central APD office contact information.- Include contact information for consumers having trouble arranging a placement.• Florida ARF will attend the Annual Family Café Conference June 8-10 in Orlando, Floridaand host a booth to give consumers information about ICF/DDs.• The brochures will be distributed along with candy.• An updated vacancy list will be on hand to show individuals where vacancies exist.• A suggestion was offered that staff should create a large graphic display aboutconsumers’ right to placement.Adjourn:The meeting was adjourned 3:39 p.m. by Jim McGuire, ICF/DD forum Chair.Florida Association of Rehabilitation FacilitiesICFDD Teleconference SummaryMay 15, 20072
