<strong>6541</strong>-G, <strong>6551</strong>-B<strong>Kwik</strong> <strong>Fill</strong> <strong>Polyester</strong> <strong>Primer</strong> <strong>Surfacer</strong>SURFACE PREPARATION:Wash all areas to be primed with soap and water; dry with clean cloth. Clean area with a quality wax and greaseremover such as SCAT #6311, Speedi SCAT #6321/6323 or Aqua SCAT #6351/6354 to remove all wax, grease, silicones,and other surface contaminants.SUITABLE SUBSTRATES:Untreated & Galvanized Steel & Bare Aluminum: Sand surface using 180 – 220 grit sandpaper and reclean surface.Note: <strong>Kwik</strong> <strong>Fill</strong> can be used over 1K or 2K Etch <strong>Primer</strong>s.Body <strong>Fill</strong>ers & Putty: Rough sand filler with 80 grit sandpaper, follow with 180 – 220 grit sandpaper, featheredge with320 grit paper and blow off with air gun.Plastics (Rigid & Semi-Rigid only): Sand with 180 grit sandpaper and reclean.Prepainted Surfaces: Sand and featheredge using 80 - 220 and finish with 320 on an orbital sander. Reclean surface.MIXING:Shake and stir contents of can thoroughly before mixing. Add Liquid Hardener at the rate of 2% by weight. (Example:To one quart of primer, add 0.75 oz. of hardener.) Mix primer and hardener thoroughly before adding to gun cup.(Pot Life at 75°F (27°C) & 50% R.H. is approximately 45 – 55 minutes. Warmer temperatures will reduce pot life.)NOTE: If necessary, this product may be reduced 5 – 10% with acetone to improve pot life, flow-out and dry to sandtime.APPLICATION:Apply 2 –3 medium wet coats holding gun 8 – 10 inches from surface. Allow primer to flash for 10 – 15 minutesbetween coats. Do not apply heavy wet-on-wet coats. Avoid dry spray, which must be removed before application oftopcoat.RECOMMENDED SPRAY GUN SET-UP:Use a primer gun with a 1.6 - 1.8 fluid tip. Recommended air pressure at gun is 30 - 40 PSI.DRYING SCHEDULE @ 75°F (27°C), 50% RELATIVE HUMIDITY:Dust Free: 30 minutesDry to Sand: 55 - 65 minutes (with use over etch primer time is extended)Force Dry: Purge for 10 minutes, bake at 140°F (16°C) for 30 minutes.IRT: Purge for 5 minutes, bake 15 minutes at 24” - 36”SANDING/TOPCOATING:Dry sand with 220 grit and finish with 320 - 400 grit. For wet sanding, use 400 grit and follow with 500 - 600 grit. Referto paint manufacturers instructions before application of topcoats.CLEAN-UP:Do not allow material to remain in cup longer than 50 minutes. Wash equipment with acetone, lacquer thinner or anappropriate spray gun cleaner.Keep lid closed when not in use.
