I.S.B. Middle/High SchoolDragon DispatchFriday, October 2, 2009Middle School Speech & Debate Nov 13-14Activities CornerHelp needed from the whole ISB communityISB will be hosting this major event on Nov 13-14. We will be welcoming over 100 middle school students from schools all around Europe. Thisevent is a CEESA event which means that we have a responsibility to host our guests in ISB family homes. Visiting schools will arrive onThursday 12 th November and depart on Sunday 15 th November. This means that we are asking for volunteers to help out with hosting of our gueststudents. After speaking to many parents about the prospect of hosting, it became apparent that the issue of transporting guest students to and from thecompetition venue was a problem. We are currently trying to remove this problem by organizing transportation which would leave from threecentral points around town and bring students to and from the competition venue. This would mean that host families would only need to escorttheir guests to a more local point where they will be picked up/dropped off by an ISB bus.The other are of concern that was brought to my attention was the lack of clarity in the past with guidelines about hosting. I can assure you thatthere are clear rules and regulations as laid down the Central Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA) which will be made available wellin advance of the competition. It would be great if we could have all the hosting set up before our October vacation. If you can help out with hosting please e mail me atdhart@isb.rsHosting is not restricted to parents who have children in the middle school. All members of the ISB community are urged to consider hosting forthis event.Thank you in advance for your support of the ISB activities programme.Trips This WeekThis week is a very busy one as far as trips are concerned.
