BESCHREIBUNGDer DYNACORD PWH 28 Sub ist als Planar WaveguideBasshorn mit zwei hochbelastbaren DYNACORD LFS 1870018“ Lautsprechern zum Einsatz als Subwoofer in aktivenMehrwegsystemen ausgeführt. Das Planar Waveguide Designmit hohem Wirkungsgrad und niedrigem Klirrfaktor gewährleisteteinen problemlosen Einsatz auch in mittelgrossen und grossenBassarrays.Die 100 mm Sandwich Schwingspulen sind extrem robustund durch die vollelektronische VOICE COIL TRACKINGPROTECTION gegen thermische Überlastung präzisegeschützt. Extrem leistungsstarke Endstufen könnendeshalb zur Erzielung größtmöglicher Dynamik als Antriebbenutzt werden ohne dass, auch bei Fehlbedienung, einethermische Überlastung der Schwingspulen auftreten kann. ImÜberlastungsfall wird die Leistung „weich“ auf sichere Wertereduziert. Störend wahrnehmbare Abschaltvorgänge wie beiherkömmlichen Protections treten also nicht auf. Das Gehäusedes PWH 28 besteht aus 18 mm starkem Birken-Multiplex.Alle Gehäuseverbindungen sind genutet und verleimt. DieGehäuseoberfl äche ist mit einer robusten 2-KomponentenLackierung versehen. Ein mit Akustikschaum hinterlegtes,pulverbeschichtetes Frontgitter schützt die DYNACORD LFS18700 Woofer vor mechanischer Beschädigung und gegenWitterungseinfl üsse. Das Anschlußfeld ist mit zwei 4-poligenund 2 8-poligen Speakonbuchsen für sicheren Anschluss undproblemloses Weiterschleifen ausgerüstet. Die Pinbelegung ist1+/1-. Die anderen Pins sind ebenfalls zwischen den jeweiligenBuchsen durchverbunden.Rastfräsungen an der Oberseite und auf einer Seitenwanderlauben problemloses Stacken mehrerer PWH 28. DerartigeAufbauten müssen natürlich fachmännisch gegen Umfallenabgesichert werden. Durch vier seitlichangebrachte Tragegriffe und 4 massive Rollen auf der Rückwandist ein leichter und sicherer Transport gewährleistet.DESCRIPTIONDYNACORD´s PWH 28 is a Planar Waveguide Basshorncabinet, equipped with two high-power DYNACORD LFS 18700transducers and has been designed for subwoofer applications inactive multi-way systems. The Planar Waveguide design exhibitshigh effi ciency, low distortion and excellent transient responseand allows the use of the PWH 28 even in medium-size andlarge-format bass arrays.The woofers use long excursion voice coils to guarantee lowdistortion even at high drive levels. The 100mm sandwich-typevoice coils are extremely robust and withstand extremely highpower peaks.The cabinet is equipped with an electronic circuit called VOICECOIL TRACKING PROTECTION. This circuit senses theterminal voltage of the transducers and simulates the thermalbehaviour of the woofers’ voice coils. In case of potential thermaloverload the power applied to the speakers is reduced to a safelevel. Extremely powerful amps can be used in order to havemaximum dynamic range without the danger of thermal overloadin non-controlled situations. The VOICE COIL TRACKINGPROTECTION exhibits “soft” switching characteristics, so noannoying clicks or pops are audible. The circuitry automaticallyresets after the voice coil temperature has reached a safe value.The PWH 28 cabinet is made of 18 mm birch plywood. All cornerjoints and braces are grooved and glued. The cabinet´s surfaceis painted with a 2-K laquer fi nish.A powder coated steel grille with protective acoustic foam at therear side of the grille protects the LFS18700s against damageand bad environmental conditions. The connector panel uses two4-pole and two 8-pole Speakon connectors for a safe connectionand easy daisy-chaining to other cabinets. The pin assignment is1+/1-. All other pins are also connected between the respectiveSpeakon connectors.Millings on the top and at one side allow easy stacking ofcabinets. Please always take care that every speaker stackhas been mechanically secured against accidental falling down.Please always consult a certified structural engineer for correctand safe setup methods.The cabinet is equipped with eight large rubber feet.
