You may still be paid if you fall intoany of the following categories:●●●have additional animals on your holding which would bring you up to the minimum stocking rate.This may be the case if you did not declare all of your animal numbers;have an official agreement which commits you to maintain a low stocking rate. Agreements withDefra such as the new Environmental Stewardship schemes (OELS, ELS or HLS) or one of the existingEnvironmentally Sensitive Area (ESA) or Countryside Stewardship Scheme (CSS) agreements areincluded as are agri-environmental agreements with other official bodies (e.g. Natural England,National Parks, etc).have entered into the Compulsory Scrapie Flock Scheme (CSFS) and reduced your flock numbers asa consequence.If you have any other reason for having a low stocking density, please let RPA know and they will consideryour case individually.Please Note: In previous years we have been able to offer an exemption from the minimum stockingdensity requirements if you have been in receipt of Extensification Payment Scheme payments.Exceptionally, this exemption was rolled over for HFA 2006. This exemption will not be availablefrom HFA 2007 onwards.2.9 What is the maximum stocking density that I am allowed?<strong>The</strong>re is no maximum stocking rate. However, you are required to manage your land in line with crosscompliance requirements (see para. 2.10) and, therefore, should avoid overgrazing or unsuitablesupplementary feeding practices.6
