<strong>Job</strong> <strong>Description</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Research</strong> <strong>Coordinator</strong>Position<strong>Research</strong><strong>Coordinator</strong>Department<strong>Research</strong>Reports toED or his/her nomineeReportees/Supervision2.0 POSITION OBJECTIVESThe <strong>Research</strong> <strong>Coordinator</strong> is responsible for performing duties associated with coordinatingand implementing research projects and monitor progress <strong>of</strong> research activities. Assists inproject planning, and ensures that pre-established work scope, and regulatory requirementsare followed. Develops and maintains recordkeeping systems and procedures. Establishesand maintains budgets and fiscal controls for the projects and assists in the development <strong>of</strong>grant proposals, preparation <strong>of</strong> research manuscripts and grant submissions.3.0 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND TASKS3.1 Core Responsibilities & Duties1. Liaise with researchers and coordination <strong>of</strong> all projects research activities2. Collation and analysis <strong>of</strong> existing data and information from various research3. Conduct Policy <strong>Research</strong> Advocacy Meeting (PRAM)4. Maintain a record <strong>of</strong> all research done at or on behalf <strong>of</strong> <strong>SDPI</strong>. This researchcompendium <strong>of</strong> past and current research will be regularly updated and maintained in aform that it can be used both internally and externally5. Maintain a record <strong>of</strong> all research proposals submitted on behalf <strong>of</strong> <strong>SDPI</strong>. This record willbe regularly updated and maintained6. Facilitate dissemination <strong>of</strong> policy advice and research results to various stakeholders7. Participate in policy, advocacy meetings8. Provide reports to donors, government and other agencies on <strong>SDPI</strong> program activitiesas required or requested.9. Participate in <strong>of</strong>fice administrative and management committee activities as required orrequested10. Support Executive Director in tracking the progress <strong>of</strong> various project deliverables11. Publication <strong>of</strong> research findings in scientific journals and technical reports12. Help organize major <strong>SDPI</strong> conferences, workshops and meetings as requested13. Undertake any other job related tasks as determined by the Executive Director or hisnominee3.2 Occasional Significant Duties1. Membership <strong>of</strong> Committee(s)2. Engage <strong>SDPI</strong> in various national and international networks.3. Discharge any other related administrative or management responsibilities assigned byExecutive Director.
