PRESIDENTIAL ASSIST ANTCOX assumes new post as Presidential AssistantBILLY RAY COX was appointed assistant to thePresident in the areas of development and publicrelations at the beginning of the 1967 fall semester.Known by students as the voice who broadcastedBison football games play by play in his ownunique style, Cox also finds time to serve as Directorof Placement and Director of the AmericanStudies Program. In the fall he accompaniedAmerican Studies students on a field trip to surveyDallas enterprises. Mr. Cox is in his fourth yearsponsoring the Harding business team in the MichiganState Executive Games. The competition provesa challenge to the team and Mr. Cox as Harding isthe smallest school entered in the competition.BillY RAY COX , MBA , CPA , TOADIRECTOR OF RESEARCHNASA grants $46,000 for research in '67 '68HARRY OlREE, EdDDR. HARRY DOYLE OLREE, Director of Research,is the recipient of a $46,000 research grantfrom the National Aeronautics and Space Administrationfor 1967-68 to conduct basic research onthe evaluation of physical fitness. This research isin connection with the space program's training ofthe astronauts. Dr. Olree is the editor of the AmericanCollege of Sports Medicine Newsletter andpresident of the Research Section of the ArkansasAssociation for H ealth, Physical Education, andRecreation. He was elected to an honor m embershipsociety last May. In addition to these positions, heserves Harding as Chairman of the Departmentof Health and Physical Educa tion, Chairman of theDivision of Education and Athletic Director.23

Anexecutive committee of the Board meets morefrequently to act upon questions that demand animmediate answer.A self-perpetuating group of men and womenwho are interested in Christian education and whoreceive no remunera tion for the many hours ofservice they give each year comprise the board.Chairman is Dr. Houston T.
