P A G E 9Changes in parking at Cox SouthWe want you to beaware of some changesin parking on the CoxSouth campus beginningnext month and to explainthe reasons forthe changes.Due to the constructionand the footprint of thenew Cox South tower,we are losing 150 patientand visitor parkingspaces in the lot to thewest of the main hospitalentrance.To accommodate constructionof the newpatient tower, employeeparking areas aroundthe hospital will undergopermanentchanges.So our patients and visitorscan have close accessto our facilities,please make use of thefollowing employeeparking locations:The PrimroseStreet lotSurface parkingsouth of thehospital betweenEmergencyDepartmentand JamesRiver FreewaySurface parkingwest of theparking garageParking garageThe changes for employeeparking take effectMonday, June 3.Parking spaces will be re-striped June 1-2 toreflect the map at thislink.Employees will be askedto park only in the areasmarked in white on themap and the parkinggarage beginning June3.The 2 nd , 3 rd , and 4 th levelsof the parking garageare all open foremployees, as well asthe south half of thegarage on the 1 st floor.Please note, there areapproximately 275 underutilizedparkingspaces on the top deckof the parking garage(4 th floor) which morethan make up for thenet loss of spaces forthis project. On averageon any given day,there are only about 15cars on the top deck ofthe parking garage.Visitors/patient parkingareas are marked in yellowon the map.Again, parking changesreflected in the newparking map go into effectJune 3. <strong>CoxHealth</strong>Security will be availableto assist employeeswith finding the appropriateparking areas.We understand thatthese changes will meanthat some of you willhave to park fartheraway from your usualentrance into the facility.In the days beforethis change occurs,please consider howyour arrival time towork might need to beadjusted.Volunteers, please DONOT park in areas thatare specially designatedfor patients such as: 30minute parking, ERparking, etc.If you have any concernsabout the parkingsituation please talkwith someone in the volunteeroffice.T A K E N O T E
