Material specifications7.1 The project manager shall ensure that project members have written specificationsfor the purchase of all <strong>FSC</strong>-certified material which shall include the followingrequirements:a) the company supplying the <strong>FSC</strong>-certified material shall be in possession of avalid <strong>FSC</strong> chain of custody or joint forest management and chain of custodycertificate issued by an <strong>FSC</strong>-accredited certification body 6 ;b) the material to be supplied shall be identified as <strong>FSC</strong>-pure or <strong>FSC</strong>-mixed;c) the material to be supplied shall be covered by the scope of the supplyingcompany’s <strong>FSC</strong> chain of custody or joint forest management and chain ofcustody certificate 7 ;d) the transport documentation and invoices issued for the <strong>FSC</strong>-certifiedmaterial shall include the name of the project, name and contact details of thesuppler, <strong>FSC</strong> registration code, and for full project certification, the costand/or volume (or measurements that can be used to calculate volume) of thematerial/products.7.2 The project manager shall ensure that project members have written specificationsfor the purchase of all reclaimed material which shall include the followingrequirements:a) categories of reclaimed wood material shall be described in accordance withthe definitions of wood material provided in Annex 2;b) all post-consumer reclaimed material shall be independently verified withrespect to its quantity and compliance with the specified definitions, or, ifunverified post-consumer reclaimed material is purchased for the project,then the purchasing project member shall be able to demonstrate to thecertification body that all material claimed to be ‘post-consumer’ meets thedefinition of ‘post-consumer reclaimed material’ used for this standard;NOTE: The project member must provide the certification body with a credibleguarantee that all the material supplied as post-consumer reclaimed meetsthe <strong>FSC</strong> definition.c) the shipping documentation and invoices issued for independently verifiedmaterial shall include the name of the project, name and contact details of thesupplier, the supplying company’s <strong>FSC</strong> registration code or equivalent proofof independent verification, and for full project certification, the cost and/orvolume (or measurements that can be used to calculate volume).7.3 The project manager shall ensure that project members have defined, documentedand implemented procedures which ensure the implementation of 6.3b above, whererelevant.8. Receipt and storage of material8.1 The project manager shall ensure that the requirements described in 8.2 - 8.4 belowat met. These apply to all wood material/product supplied for the project, both to theproject site as well as to the worksites of project members, where relevant.6A complete and up to date list of all valid <strong>FSC</strong> registration codes can be checked at www.fsc-info.org. Thevalidity and scope of a particular certificate can be confirmed with the certification body if required. The contactdetails of all <strong>FSC</strong>-accredited certification bodies are available at www.fsc.org or my contactingaccreditation@fsc.org.7This should be confirmed by the buyer.
