Our Mission“The mission of the Community Foundation serving Howard, Carroll and Clinton counties isto improve the quality of life of the community through the accumulation and stewardship of enduringcharitable gifts.”Vision“The Community Foundation is recognized by the community to be an effective, credible, andinfluential broad-based organization. It serves the community as a catalyst dedicated to improving thequality of life of our people through the permanent stewardship of financial gifts placed in its care.”As the number of people touched by the Foundation continues to rise, this statement of “vision” iscoming ever closer to reality.Core ValuesTo express the underlying philosophy of the Foundation, the board drafted a series of “core values”statements that reflect the fundamental philosophy of its operation. These values provide guidance to bothpaid staff and volunteers as we interact with donors, grantees and the community:StewardshipThe Foundation will prudently manage the resources entrusted to it, maintainingconfidentiality and seeking growth of resources.Open DoorThe Foundation will be available to all segments of our defined community.Service to DonorsThe Foundation offers opportunities to donors to improve the quality of life intheir community by fulfilling their charitable goals.Service to CommunityThe Foundation will improve the quality of life through leadership by buildingendowments that are directed toward meeting the needs of the community.IntegrityThe Foundation, its directors and staff will hold themselves to the highest ethical standardsand strive to achieve the best business practices.We hope these statements make clearer in your mind the role and purpose of the CommunityFoundation.
