An important manifestation of cooperation across the region is thesuccess of the <strong>Latin</strong> America Corporate Governance Roundtable of the OECD andthe World Bank Group.The roundtable first brought together high-level policymakers,corporate leaders, investors, academics, and corporate governance professionals atBovespa in 2000 for discussions organized around the framework of the OECD principles,and again at the Bolsa de Comercio de Buenos Aires in 2001 and the BolsaMexicana de Valores in 2002. 26 The roundtable meetings and follow-up efforts supportedby the Global Corporate Governance Forum, World Bank, IFC, Inter-<strong>American</strong>Development Bank, Inter-<strong>American</strong> Investment Corporation, Corporacion Andina deFomento, and other public and private entities have made important contributions tothe content and execution of several of the initiatives described in this chapter Theroundtable, the Global Corporate Governance Forum, and the IFC have supportedmembers of the business community organizing institutes of directors.The Brazilian Instituteof Corporate Governance is without a doubt the current leader in this regard.With the support of the Global Corporate Governance Forum, an association of institutesof directors from throughout the region has been established to promotesharing of resources and experiences among member organizations in Argentina, Brazil,Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. 2726 The proceedings of the roundtable meetings are on the website of the Corporate Affairs Division of the OECD(www.oecd.org/corporate-affairs).The final meeting of the roundtable will be held in Santiago in March/April 2003.27 See www.gcgf.org.Copyright © by the Inter-<strong>American</strong> Development Bank.
