During the 4 month <strong>GP</strong> post, F2s willexperience a full range of training experiences including <strong>GP</strong>surgeries and home visits.<strong>Fulwell</strong> Medical CentreDr Sue Blake, Dr Pauline JosenSeeing patients in the <strong>GP</strong> surgery, mixture of pre-booked andsame-day appointments. Usually 20 min appointmentsstarting with 4 per session gradually increasing to 8 persession depending on the individual situation. All sessionssupervised (named <strong>GP</strong> available for each session if neededduring and to review cases at the end). Exposure to very widerange of acute and chronic conditions and presentations.Opportunity to do home visits if wanted but not requirement ofthe placement. Opportunity to do practical procedures,including some minor surgery. TheTrust received a double ‘good’ rating from the Care QualityCommission for the quality of its services and its financialmanagement in 2008/9 and achieved 63 out of the 66 standardsset by the Commission. There is an on-site Health and FitnessCentre and access to a Childcare coordinator to help staff with theirchildcare arrangements. Sunderland is a coastal city with goodfacilities for leisure and education.
