Behind the scenes, every time they print abarcode header sheet, it generates a workflow case inthe enterprise workflow automation system so thosedocuments are tracked through the system. All theindexing, such as type and number of pages, occursat the clinics. When the documents arrive at centralscanning, the system acknowledges receipt and createsthe batches to be scanned with all their attributes: casename, number of pages, and number of documents. Itdoes the matchups automatically. If there is a mismatch,the system alerts the operator, who can accept it orreject and fix it. The workflow system integrates cleanlyand efficiently with the Kofax system so no one has tomanually enter any of the attributes. Detailed data aretransferred to the workflow system so progress can bemonitored from scanning to recognition to quality controlto release.
