The G-Fabgroup raised $1,771 and Victor Gangi massed $1,060 in on-line donations.Approximately half of all our donation money came from on-line donations. Inaddition, we had a good time with our raffle this year thanks to Nick Leverone. Weappreciate the generosity of our sponsors who donated raffle items (see separateacknowledgment).In my last column I talked a bit about volunteerism and howimportant it is to keeping our club healthy and firing on allcylinders. Just like our race cars, some parts wear out andneed replacing. In NER some people wear out and needto be replaced or need to have a lighter load. It is alwaysbetter to replace a part BEFORE is fails, than ignoring it untilthe situation is urgent. As the racing season winds downand we start thinking about new parts for our race car, Ineed to search for some fresh parts for NER. For example:Jerry Rigoli has done an admirable job as Club RacingChair for the past 3 years, but its now time for someoneelse to take a turn. There are a variety of other areas inthe Club Racing program where help is needed. There areother smaller pieces of the Club Racing “engine” that needattention. On the Board of Directors we have 5 positionsup for grabs with 4 directors running for re-election andthe 5 th position opening up for new candidates. NER/SCCA membership numbers have been under pressure overthe past few years.
