TR 46-016.2 The laboratory shall posess appropriate equipment and standards to facilitate the calibration ofWBGT monitors. This may include environmental chambers, strirred water baths, and referncethermometers.6.3 The laboratory shall specify how individual sensors are to be identified, in order to preventprobes being interchanged between instruments.6.4 The calibration procedure shall include a requirement to verify the calculation of the WBGTindices at ambient, ±30,0 ºC, and ±40,0ºC from the individual measurements of the natural wetbulb, globe and air temperature.7. Technical Requirements7.1 All three sensors (where applicable) shall be calibrated as temperature sensors at the followingtemperatures• Ambient (± 23,0 ºC),• ± 30,0 ºC,• ± 40,0 ºC,In addition the Globe and air temperature sensors shall be calibrated at• ± 50,0 ºC,• ± 60,0 ºC.7.2 The calibration procedure shall address how stability is to be determined prior to measurementsbeing taken. This is of particular importance to sensors having long response times.7.3 If the calibration is performed in a strirred water bath, the bath shall only be filled withwater and not oil, as the oil may contaminate the measurement probes.7.4 Any claims of compliance may only be made when the UoM has been taken into account.7.5 The laboratory may claim compliance with the metrological requirements of clauses 3.1.1 e),3.1.2 e) and 3.2 of ISO 7243:1989 when the sum of the error and UoM is less than the‘accuracy of measurement’ as specified in ISO 7243.
