As per Census 2001, thepopulation of the district is 87,430 and theDistrict Headquarters is ‘Pasighat’ which is oneof the important townships in the State.?| NIC-East SiangThe NIC District Unit of East Siang, Pasighat wassetup in 1990 with the objective of promotingInformatics culture in the district administrationand employees. It is presently involved inseveral important ICT activities for promoting E-governance in the District.?| Key Activities? Inner Line softwareSince Arunachal Pradesh is a protectedarea, “Inner Line Permits” are required bythe tourists visiting the State. For theconcerned department, NIC has developedan Inner line software package in MS-Access, which keeps daily track of fresh, andrenewal cases of Innerline permits issued aswell as the revenue generated everydayfrom this activity.? Trade License SoftwareA Software on similar lines has beendeveloped for Trade License Branch forIssue and Renewal of Trade Licenses.Reports are generated on Trade licensesissued, renewed, daily receipts along withfees & late fine calculations. The software isbeing extensively used by the Department.? Arms License Software: For the JudicialBranch of the administration, NIC hasdeveloped an Arms License softwarepackage in MS-Access, using which, reportscan be generated based on applications forissuance of fresh licenses for various typesof guns and renewal of the same along withthe requisite fees.? Monthly Expenditure Software: NIC hasdeveloped a monthly expenditure softwarefor district’s General Hospital to generatemonthly reports on revenues earned fromdiagnostic tests as well as reports generatedhead-wise for expenditures like salary,stationery purchased, etc.? Paybill SoftwareFor the Accounts Department, NIC hasdeveloped a complete Payroll Package inMS-Access and implemented it from March2001 onwards. The software is findingextensive application in their monthly payrollprinting, especially the TR-22 forms whichwere once a manual and cumbersomeprocess. The software also has provision forgenerating Challans, Bill Extract, Schedulesetc. These forms are also being accepted bythe Bank and Treasury.?| District Web SiteThe Website of East Siang districtdeveloped by NIC was launched on 26 th ofMarch, 2003 at http://eastsiang.nic.in bythe Deputy Commissioner, East SiangDistrict , Pasighat. The Site comprisesdata and information pertaining to theDistrict Administration, MajorDepartments, Tourism, Entry formalitiesfor entering the District etc. ImportantDownloadable forms for availing variouscitizen services have also been put up.Photo Gallery is one of the attractivesections for encouraging tourism in thisarea of un-spoilt natural beauty.?| Other Activities:? NIC has provided LAN connection as well asInternet Connectivity to several userdepartments, some of which are located atfar-flung areas.? NIC is imparting training to employees ofvarious Government Departments and also tothose who are involved in Centrallysponsored schemes like AGMARKNET, 7 thAISES project, PMGSY and BPL survey.?
