(2011) EXTRA-CURRICULAR AWARDSIN MUSIC:This year we have 125 students who rehearse and perform in extra-curricular music groups. These groups takethe form of our Choruses and Ensembles, which enrich our lives with jazz, classical and rock music. Each year, the Massachusetts Music Educators Association selects outstanding musicians from over 1100students from more than 50 public and private schools students to participate in the Junior and Senior DistrictFestivals. These students audition for the Orchestra, Concert Band, Jazz Band, or Chorus in the winter, and, ifselected, they are invited to participate in a three-day festival that culminates in a performance of challengingrepertoire.
