To avoid spoilage it isessential to have an evaporator thatis dedicated to gentle treatment,and higher quality.Tetra Alvap CT is an evaporatorthat uses centrifugal technology incombination with low temperatureto achieve efficient and gentle evaporation.In addition, the centrifugaltechnology ensures a short residencetime and no other evaporationtechnology can provide suchpremium quality.The Tetra Alvap CT can be usedfor a wide range of applications –from fruit juice concentration topharmaceutical and biotechnicalprocessing.The product to be concentrated is fed tothe rotating cones where it is distributedonto the inner surface and, due to centrifugalforce, forms an even, thin film.Heating is carried out using low-pressuresteam resulting in gentle boiling and removalof solvent/water. By further use ofcentrifugal force, the product is brought tothe lower edge of the cones and is pickedup by a paring tube to be let out of theevaporator. The vapour rises and is ledout of the machine to the Þnal condenser.

A model for each needFour model sizes are available:CT-1B-2, CT-6, CT-9 and CT-12.The smallest model, CT-1B-2, isan excellent pilot plant and researchunit but is also used forsmaller, commercial applications,especially in the pharmaceuticalsector.The capacity varies accordingto the application. For fruit juice itcan be up to 5 000 kg/hour, forbeer up to 120 hl/hour, and fororganic solvents up to 10 -15tons/hour.Tetra Alvap CT is easy to startup as well as shut down, andrequires a minimum of operatorattention. The evaporator is veryservice-friendly and hygienic,including CIP.Tetra Pak has so far deliveredmore than 1 000 units to users allover the world for well over 200different applications.A widerange ofapplicationsTetra Alvap CT is an extremelyflexible evaporator. It is suitablefor products with particularlystringent requirements. Rapid, gentle and efficientDue to the centrifugal force ofTetra Alvap CT the liquid feed isconverted into a very thin Þlmwhich is evenly spread on theheating surface of the rotatingcones – resulting in a rapid, gentleand efficient treatment.The process takes place undervacuum with a boiling temperatureas low as 30-50˚C. Togetherwith the short residence time(1 sec), the low temperatureensures that the original qualitiesof the product are preserved.With its high thermal efficiencythe Tetra Alvap CT evaporatesconsiderably more water per unitarea than conventional evaporators.In addition, it is possible toachieve an extremely high concentrationratio of product in asingle pass, not seen in any otherevaporator.Product feedProduct concentrateProduct vapourSteamSteam condensate
