API <strong>Preserve</strong> <strong>America</strong> <strong>Neighborhoods</strong> ProjectBe Your Community’s AdvocateIn November 2007, <strong>CRA</strong>/<strong>LA</strong> initiated dialogue with representative community stakeholdersof Los Angeles’ five <strong>Asian</strong> <strong>Pacific</strong> <strong>Islander</strong> <strong>Neighborhoods</strong>.The <strong>Asian</strong> <strong>Pacific</strong> <strong>Islander</strong> (API) <strong>Preserve</strong> <strong>America</strong> <strong>Neighborhoods</strong> project, a<strong>CRA</strong>/<strong>LA</strong>-Community partnership, was formed.The API <strong>Preserve</strong> <strong>America</strong> <strong>Neighborhoods</strong> Project was presented at the November 27,2007 API Leaders Group’s Reception for Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and received theMayor’s full endorsement and support.The API PAN Coalition made presentationsto the respective City Councilmembers for eachAPI neighborhood as well as built broad-basedpolitical support from their respective county,state, and federal elected representatives.The City Council adopted resolutions insupport of each of the 5 API <strong>Neighborhoods</strong>’applications for <strong>Preserve</strong> <strong>America</strong> Neighborhooddesignation.
