Students failing to return books issued for home reading on or before the due date will be liableto pay a fine of Rs. 15/- per day till such time as the book is returned.7. Students will not be issued more than one book at a time for home reading. While returningbooks students will ensure that the necessary entry of return is made in his/her presence.8. Books issued against the Identity card are for use in the Reading Hall only and must be returnedwhile leaving the library. Disciplinary action will be taken against students violating this rule.9. The Students are required to maintain silence in the Reading Hall.10. All Departments have departmental Library with open access.GYMKHANAThe activities of the Gymkhana are managed by the Gymkhana Managing Committee under the solecharge of a senior member of the staff as its Chairperson responsible for co-ordinating the activities invarious fields of sports, both-indoor and outdoor. Each game/department is directly controlled by astaff member as a Sports Director, and a student secretary.Since the College does not have its own play-ground, arrangements are made to hiregrounds/playing fields in different localities for each sport game.Expert coaches are appointed whenever necessary to train students in different games.College celebrates Annual Sports Day. Provision exists to admit outstanding sportsmen/women andincentives are provided to such players by way of sports scholarship /free ship. College colours areawarded for outstanding performances on the field.National Cadet Corps (N.C.C)The College enrolls students for the Senior Division N.C.C. under the 6 th Maharashtra Bn N.C.C. Thecadets get opportunity to attend various camps such as A.T.C., N.I.C., Army Attachment andParasailing to name a few. Cadets are also encouraged to try to get selected for the Republic DayParade. Various camps/exhibitions are also conducted within the College.National Service Scheme (N.S.S)Students are encouraged to participate in Social Services through its NSS unit, which is very activeand involves the students in various projects related to Community based development, Environmentissues, Child Welfare, Poverty eradication programmes, Cleanliness drive etc in rural area. It alsoconducts an Annual Camp during the winter vacation.ASSOCIATIONS1. The College runs several Associations which are social, linguistic and cultural innature. TheEnglish Literacy Association, Marathi Wangmaya Mandal, Kannada Sangha, Hindi SahityaParishad, Commerce Association, Economics Association, Philosophy Association, HistoryAssociation, Geo Club, Political Science Association, Sociology Association, Space Point Club,Nature Club, Finance &Accountancy Association, Talent Search Club. Under the auspices of theseassociations talks, discussions and exhibitions are held throughout the year.2. The college also has a ‘Speakers Forum’ to train students in the art of debating, elocution,facing an interview panel, group discussion etc.3. Through its Cultural Association, the College encourages students to participate in CulturalYouth Festivals and compete in singing, acting, dancing competitions at the Inter - College andIntra-Collegiate Level Exhibitions like Drawing, Rangoli, Painting, Photography etc. areorganised. The College organizes an intracollegiate fest “Reflections”4. In debates and other meetings, the Guest/Chairman to be invited must beapproved by thePrincipal. The Subject of debate or discussion should also besimilarly approved.5. No Special fees will be collected on behalf of any College Association or Society without thewritten permission of the Principal.6. The Principal is the Ex-Officio President of a College Association or Society and her decisionshall be final and binding in the matter.HINDI CENTREThe Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mumbai, Dr. B.L. Mungekar inaugurated theHINDI CENTRE on the campus. This centre conducts various seminars, workshops related to HindiLiterature and invites renowned literary personalities to participate in the intellectual discussions. TheHINDI VIDYA PRACHAR SAMITI, our Managing Body takes keen interest in the development ofthe P.G. Centre in Hindi. It also offers doctoral program in Hindi.GENERAL COUNSELLINGThe College has appointed, for the benefit of the students, a professional counsellor. The studentsconsult the counsellor regarding their personal and emotional problems or problems related to theirstudies on the campus. The counsellor also conducts workshops on personality development andemotional behavior etc. for the benefit of the students.CAREER COUNSELLING AND PLACEMENT CELLThe College conducts a series of Lectures by eminent personalities from different fields, to guidestudents regarding their Career Options. The placement cell organises an annual career fair“VISTAS” which provides career guidance to the students. The Placement Cell helps in finding jobopportunities to the students, both during vacations and after their graduation. The College has a fulltime placement officer available at the Placement Centre on the Campus.OTHER FACILITIESThe College has large number of facilities for student support and progression and for their comfortwhile they are in the premises. Some of these are Canteen, Stationery Store, Air conditionedGymnasium, Seminar Room, M.P.S.S., Auditorium and Baijanath Saboo Sabhagrah Hall.
