Unidentified Transient IGRs• Transient sources behaviour in general:• Most of the time in quiescent state (L=10 31-33 erg s -1 )• Outburts with different time scale (d-m-y) and different temporaland spectral behaviour• Spectral states changes during the outburts (expecially in binarysystems)
Unidentified Transient IGRs• The new IGR transient sources are the most difficult to identify because of their own nature.• Often the outburst detected by IBIS are very short or too faint for source information extraction(spectra detailed light curves etc..)How identify them:• Sky position: Galactic Bulge and plane XRBs, high latidune AGNs• Multiwavelength observations (radio-IR-optical) : for example long activitiystarted since 2004 by Masetti and collaborators combined available information at soft x-rayand whenever possible radio, with all optical spectroscopy on the putative counterparts of thehard x-ray sources (Masetti, 2010, arXiv:1006.4513 identification of 44 newly detected hardX-ray source of which 8 are transient IGRs source: 3 Seyfert Galaxies, 2 Possible moreSeyfert galaxy and 3 showing X-R Binary characteristics).• Quiescent flux (NS in quiescence are generally more luminous thanBHC, Campana et al. 2001): the counter part searching is difficult, in fact thesesources spend a lot of time in quiescence thus for example the archival data are often unusefulfor counter part searching and even dedicated observations could often observe thesource when it has gone again in quiescence. Anyway it is possible to extrapolateinformations about the nature of the source even in quiescent state.• X-ray outburst behaviour and temporal characteristics in general…This talk illustrate the first results of a global study on these kind of sources that try to identifythe nature of these sources collecting new and old data results.FIRST QUESTION: where they are?
