ApplicationsFlameSafe Pillows are used as a firestop wherever penetrationoccurs through walls to maintain fire ratings up to 2hours. They may be used during the <strong>construction</strong> phase as atemporary firestop or left in place as a permanent firestop.These <strong>pillows</strong> have been approved for 1 <strong>and</strong> 2-hour gypsumwallboard <strong>and</strong> 2-hour concrete block wall assemblies. Theycan also be used for a max. 4" EMT conduit sleeve withdata communications cables or up to 24" x 6" center spinealuminum cable trays containing co-axial power cables,fiber optic cables <strong>and</strong> telecommunications cables. TheFlameSafe firestop <strong>pillows</strong> are a cost effective, clean solutionfor firestopping small power cables <strong>and</strong> data/telecommunicationscable which require retrofit.Applicable St<strong>and</strong>ardsFlameSafe Pillows are approved by UnderwritersLaboratories Inc., for 1 <strong>and</strong> 2 hour rated systems, in accordancewith ASTM E814 (UL1479) Fire Tests of Through-Penetration Firestops.Available in two sizes, FlameSafe Pillows are ideal forapplications where frequent retrofitting of cables is expected.InstallationWall Penetration: FlameSafe Pillows are installed widthwisea minimum 6" into the opening to achieve the appropriatefire rating.
