SpeedSPAL APS 1Installation and operating manualThree operating waya) With speed signalb) With reversing signalc) With speed signal and reversing signala) CONNECTION WITH SPEED SIGNALonly (ODOMETER)It is possible to connect the speed signalonly, in addition to the +15 and GND. Inthis way, the parking sensor turns onwhen the speed of the vehicle is underthat programmed, for a maximum periodof 2 minutes; having exceeded theprogrammed speed, the parking sensorswitches turn off.By pushing the button when the parkingsensor is on, the system is deactivateduntil the following restarting or the nexttime the pushbutton is pushed; theblinking of the LED indicates thedeactivation state.By pushing the button when the parkingsensor is switched off, the latter isswitched on for a period of 30 seconds oruntil the set speed is exceeded. It is necessary to programme theshutdown speed (see programmingmode).Connect the white wire to negative.b) CONNECTION WITH REVERSINGSIGNAL onlyIt is possible to connect the reversesignal only, in addition to the +15 andGND. In this way, the parking sensorturns on for a period of 30 seconds eachtime reverse gear is disengaged; ifreverse gear is engaged, it switches off tothen come on again when reverse isdisengaged again.By pushing the button when the parkingsensor is on, it switches off.By pushing the button when the parkingsensor is switched off, the latter switcheson for a period of 30 seconds. It is necessary to programme theoperation with reverse gear (seeprogramming mode).Connect the white/black wire to negative.LEDBUTTON+15+12V IGNITION KEYLEDBUTTONLEDBUTTON+15REDBLACKBLACK+12V IGNITION KEYREVERSINGLIGHTREDBLACKORANGEORANGEWHITELEDBUTTONAPS 1APS 1BLACKWHITE/BLACKRED/WHITEBLACKGNDSPEED METERREDPARKING SENSORPOWER SUPPLYRED/WHITEBLACKBLACKBLACKBLACKGNDREDPARKING SENSORPOWER SUPPLYBLACKV+SPALPS-2 PS-3 PS-4GNDV+SPALPS-2 PS-3 PS-4GND35600035 - Front Parking Sensor.doc Page 3 of 5 Date : 29/03/2004

SPAL APS 1Installation and operating manualEXCESSIVE SPEED WARNINGThe APS 1 indicates to the driver that he is exceeding a previously set speed (for example: 130Km/h on motorways). The indication takes place by means of 2 sound of the buzzer and theblinking of the LED for 2 minutes. This function activates only when the vehicle is travelling at a speed greater thandouble the shutdown speed of the parking sensor (for example: 15 Km/h is stored asthe parking sensor shutdown speed, so over 30 Km/h the warning function can beused). In order to store the speed, it is necessary to press the pushbutton down for 3 seconds whiletravelling at the desired speed; the buzzer will emit 1 confirmation buzz. The speed is storedpermanently. It is possible to deactivate / activate the function by pressing the pushbutton down à LEDpermanently lit up for function on, LED unlit for function off.APS 1This function activates only when the vehicle istravelling at a speed greater than double theshutdown speed of the parking sensorLEDBUTTONREDBLACKBLACKGNDREDBLACKSPEED ALERTBUZZERWHITE/BLACKSpeedSPEED METER+15+12V IGNITION KEYORANGELEDBUTTONBLACKREDBLACKBUZZER35600035 - Front Parking Sensor.doc Page 5 of 5 Date : 29/03/2004
