LettersHelp NeededI was wondering if any readers could help me out a bit. Iam, 42 years, male and have been living in France for justover three years now. I am also blind and paraplegic, andbecause of my circumstances, my opportunities for socialinteractions are very limited.I am trying to find someone who can help me with my French.I have been studying every day, but have nobody I can actuallypractice speaking it with.Learning the language is not a problem, speaking, andpronouncing words correctly, is.If there is someone out there who would be kind enough tospare me a little time, maybe once or twice a week, nothingformal, even just a short chat on the phone, would be ofenormous help to me in my endeavours to speak the languageproperly.I enjoy socialising and chatting to people, so I would alsolike to know if anyone knows of any clubs or activities for thedisabled, or visually impaired, either in Callac, or maybe itssurrounding areas? If there were some kind of social activities for disabled people,I could then get out and about more often, to meet, andintegrate with more people, this would also help me to improvemy French.Any help, advice, or pointers in the right direction, anyonecan offer me, would be very much appreciated. You can get in touch either by dropping me a line at adrien.collins@orange.fr or phone 06 04 18 20 36.Kind RegardsAdrienRestaurant RecommentationWhilst on holiday at our house in Le Faouet recently we visitedan excellent restaurant in Plouay. The restaurant is 'Le Relais Du Marquis', 2 Rue de Becherel.Plouay, 0297332500 - we highly recommend this restaurant forit's value, quality of food and service. Also, if you are in the Le Faouet area at the esd of August the'Fete de Chasse' in Cote en Haie, is well worth a visit for a typicalFrench event with food and fun.RegardsPeter and Lorna ThaxterPlease send letters to:Central Brittany Journal,BP 4, 22160 Callac. info@thecbj.comCentral Brittany Journal – October 2010Help Direct!Anita Le MoulecLetters 15and Bob’s your uncleGeneral help in daily lifewww.helpdirect.fr Help for English speakers16 rue gl du gaulle 22150 Plouguenast anita.lemoulec@free.frTel: 02 96 28 74 11 / 06 70 72 71 58Guémené sur ScorffHenri Brissetno orias 07022307All InsuranceHome Vehicle Health LifeEnglish spoken5 rue Emile Mazé, Guémené 02 97 39 30 15henri.brisset@agents.agf.fr www.agf.fr/brissethAXA INSURANCEPONTRIEUXALL INSURANCEHouse Car Health LifeGUY KERLEROUXEnglish Spoken4 Place LE TROQUER, PontrieuxTel: 02 96 95 60 11 Email: agence.kerleroux@axa.frNew AdvertisersBuilding ServicesMulti-Services p61Flying Sparks p57Traditional Carpenter p.61Sand and Gravel p 57CoursesBrittany Walks p 27DressmakingQuestellic Couture p 10FuelBrittany Fuel Supplies p 46Garden ServicesRotavating p4 9Gifts & CardsChristmas Crackers Online p10English Greeting Cards p.10Places to EatFleur de Bretagne p 6www.thecbj.com
