Media Release<strong>Leighton</strong> <strong>awarded</strong> <strong>contract</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Tin</strong> <strong>Shui</strong> <strong>Wai</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong>in Hong Kong28 February 2013<strong>Leighton</strong> Contractors (Asia) Limited, a part of the <strong>Leighton</strong> Asia, India andOffshore Group, has secured a design and build <strong>contract</strong> <strong>for</strong> a new hospitalin <strong>Tin</strong> <strong>Shui</strong> <strong>Wai</strong>, Hong Kong. The <strong>contract</strong> is valued at approximately A$370million and will be delivered as a joint venture between <strong>Leighton</strong> Contractors(Asia) Limited and Able Engineering Company Limited.“We have successfully proven our ability to develop quality healthcare and medicalfacilities in Hong Kong over many years. The award of this <strong>contract</strong> positions the<strong>Leighton</strong> Asia, India and Offshore Group well to utilise this core competence tocapture the opportunities arising in the health sector market as investment in socialinfrastructure continues to expand. It underscores our determination to become aleader in the development of healthcare assets across Asia. Through this <strong>Tin</strong> <strong>Shui</strong><strong>Wai</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong> project we continue to demonstrate the depth of our construction andbuilding expertise, our strong project execution capabilities and our position as amarket leader in Hong Kong,” Ian Edwards, Managing Director of <strong>Leighton</strong> Asia,India and Offshore, said.The <strong>Tin</strong> <strong>Shui</strong> <strong>Wai</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong> will be a new 12-storey complex with a single-storeybasement and an internal road network on a site area of 13,300 square metres.The hospital will provide in-patient care services, including 260 beds, and variousambulatory care services.The <strong>contract</strong> will commence immediately and will be completed by mid-2016.<strong>Leighton</strong> Contractors (Asia) Limited has accumulated significant experience and astrong track record in the field of healthcare facilities in Hong Kong, havingsuccessfully completed four major healthcare projects in the city, and is wellpositioned to take advantage of future opportunities in this field.Artist impression of the <strong>Tin</strong> <strong>Shui</strong> <strong>Wai</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong>
