Thistension could take different forms and it requires a multifacetedapproach to overcome them. Among the challenges that thissecularized society presents, and which could be cause for many toabandon their religious vocation, we could list mediocrity, indifference, the temptation of efficiency and activism at the risk offidelity to the Gospel values and eventually to the weakening or eventhe loss of spiritual motivation.Another challenge of contemporary culture is the individualistictendency in modern culture and the narcissistic inclination ofpostmodern culture, which could erode the communion of brotherlylove in religious communities.
