Inthe case of periodic actions (SST), the system’s response frequency function wasdetermined and represented in terms of the modulus and phase for discrete frequencyvalues, generally in 0.1 Hz steps, suitably reduced near the resonance peaks. In the caseof impact forcing actions (SHT), the time response of the system was acquired in terms ofthe acceleration imparted by the action of the hammer. The time history of the forcingaction was also recorded, measured via a load cell applied to the hammer head. Thesampling frequency chosen for data recording was 800 Hz, for a total of 16,384measurements (each recording lasting about 20 seconds). The environmental type tests(AVT) called for recording the acceleration histories produced by random actions appliedin correspondence to the second floor deck. The sampling frequency and number ofacquired data points were the same as for the SHTs.9
