MRC Coordinator• In 2007, I started as the MRC Coordinator forSnohomish County. <strong>The</strong> Tulalip EmergencyManager contacted our office to discuss howthey could start an MRC unit for Tulalip Tribes.<strong>The</strong> reason for such a unit would be to haveMRC Volunteers who were aware of andsensitive to Tribal culture.• We offered support for the Tulalip MRC.
Grant support• In 2009 Snohomish MRC successfully wrote agrant to the Tulalip Foundation.• In 2011 when Tulalip had a Coordinatorcontracted, we started working more closelywith Tulalip MRC, as they had requested.
<strong>The</strong> partnership includes:• Both Units– Share trainings– Share administrative duties
Snohomish/TQ role• Obtain emergency worker numbers• Obtain mission numbers• Share volunteer coordination infrastructure• Invite Tulalip Coordinator to all planning• Coordinate with Tulalip on grants• Share VISTA volunteer
MISSIONS & TRAININGS• Fourth of July first aid stations (2011)• Call center support for Winter storm (<strong>2012</strong>)• TDAP call centers and clinics (<strong>2012</strong>)
