It’s time to re-enroll for this year<br />
Double check the back of your ID Card. If you are within 2 months of reenrolling,<br />
see Instructor Cheryl Turner or Instructor Maci McGraw about<br />
renewing your enrollment. Re-enrollment fees for existing cadets for the 2010-<br />
2011 year are still only $100 and haven’t gone up in nearly 10 years.<br />
<strong>The</strong> following Navy Leaguers need to have their ID cards renewed:<br />

<strong>The</strong> following <strong>Sea</strong> <strong>Cadet</strong>s need to have their ID cards renewed:<br />

<strong>Cadet</strong>s who let their enrollments expire are not allowed to participate in drill<br />
activities until their fees are paid and are subject to being dropped from the<br />
program. Don’t let this happen to you!<br />
Awards and Promotions<br />
Now that everyone has returned from this year’s training, several ribbons were<br />
awarded. Many of those included:<br />
Escort Officer Ribbon – Brett Bigelow<br />
NSCC Citation Ribbon – Anthony Dvorak, Francisco Gutierrez<br />
NLCC Service Ribbon – Esya Koyenova<br />
Unit Commendation – Alex Fields, Coleman Fuller, Kyle Keith, Shane Kravetz<br />
Physical Fitness Ribbon - Francisco Gutierrez, Kyle Keith<br />
Promoted to <strong>Sea</strong>man Apprentice (E-2) – Marissa Bachler, Coleman Fuller<br />
<strong>The</strong>re are more that will be handed out during September drill. If you think you<br />
have an award that you haven’t been presented with yet, use the chain of<br />
command and ask to see if you are eligible.<br />
Meet the new staff<br />
If you haven’t had the chance, take a moment to introduce yourself to the<br />
newest members of the unit staff. Some of them are still getting their<br />
paperwork in, but expect to start seeing more of them.<br />

This Month in <strong>Naval</strong> History…<br />
SEP 2, 1945 - Japan signs surrender documents on board USS Missouri (BB-63)<br />
at anchor in Tokyo Bay. FADM Chester W. Nimitz, USN, signs for the U.S.. In<br />
different ceremonies, Japanese forces on Palau Islands, Truk, and on Pagan<br />
Island and Rota in the Marianas surrender.<br />
SEP 11, 2001 - American Flight 77 hijacked by terrorists struck the Pentagon.<br />
Casualties include 33 sailors, 6 Department of the Navy civilians, and 3 Navy<br />
civilian contractors reported missing, Arlington, VA. Two commercial airliners<br />
also struck the World Trade Center in New York City, NY destroying both towers.
