Westport, Connecticut: Libraries Unlimited, 2006.Course Catalog DescriptionThis course will explore alternative careers in library and information science by examininglibrarians as subject specialists, technology experts, teachers and community liaisons,entrepreneurs, and administrators. <strong>St</strong>udents will have the opportunity to research and evaluatevarious alternative careers to help them prepare for future employment.Course Objectives● Become proficient in preparing for, conducting, and analyzing informational interviews● Assess your own personal, career and educational experience and interests● Identify a large range of alternative careers, be able to evaluate them against your ownexperience and interests, and identify gaps that need to be filled should you wish to entera career● Learn career­enhancing skills such as networking and individual brand1
