Chairman Report
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Eidos
Institutes Annual Report from 2011 – 2012.
This Annual Report provides an overview of our activities
during this period, as we once again set out to maximise
stakeholder value and impact with the end goal of
filtering new ideas and fresh perspectives into the policy
discussions and processes of government.
As a bi-partisan think-tank, Eidos Institute occupies a truly
unique position on the political and research landscape
of the nation. We create platforms for social change as
opposed to advocating our own agenda. We base our
policy areas of priority on the research strengths and
priorities of our university members, not the current
political priorities of the day.
Our yearly calendar of activities is a reflection of this
ethos in action. The events, research projects and
networking opportunities facilitated by our Institute
and funded by a Network of engaged national and
international universities and industry partners are a
living, breathing example of a method which
prioritises collaboration and open discussion about
political ideology.
This year Eidos has consolidated a partnership with
the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet which
will have nationally important ramifications for our
members. We have discussed, debated and dissected
important policy issues with academic and industryrelevant
experts. With a small operational staff and an
influential Network of supporters, we have swung a
spotlight onto vitally important policy-research occurring
across urban and regional university campuses occurring
nation-wide.
As ever, we continue to appreciate your support as our
Network and vision continue to expand.
