Someone thoughtthey would cash in on the Nintendogscraze by giving us monkeys.After all there are many monkeygames that have become popular.Those games have something MyPet Chimp does not have - someentertainment value.The first thing I noticedabout My Pet Chimp is the blandgraphics. The monkeys look generallyrealistic, and have someanimations. But there is nothingloveable about them. These arenot panda bears, and this is notthe zoo. My Pet Chimp tries tomake the monkeys act similarto humans. Sorry but that doesnot fly with me. And having themwear a diaper was just strange.I don’t know how themonkeys in My Pet Chimp getdirty so fast. Play one mini game,and come back to have them hungry,and dirty. So I had to go backthrough all the effort of cleaningthem up. Doing that is no easychore. Yes chore is a great wordto describe it.The mood swings ofthe monkeys in My Pet Chimpreminds me of Veggie TalesAutotainment. They seemed to berandomly generated. I could findlittle rhyme or reason to them.This is another reason I could notconnect with the monkey in MyPet Chimp.I saw My Pet Chimp in theclearance bin at Target for a verygood price. I should have left itthere and moved on. Thankfullyyou can learn about this game,and not repeat my purchase. 505Games has made some goodgames so do not trash them forreleasing this title. Everybodycan mistakes.The most uncomfortablepart about My Pet Chimp is howis makes the case for humans andmonkeys being similar. I do notsee that, and this hand held videogame did not change my opinionon that. I think that is part of thereason why My Pet Chimp did notdo so well. The other reason isthere are many pet games on themarket.
