YMCA CAMP ICAGHOWANTHE CAMP icaghowanEXPERIENCECabin Camping OvernightsEvery cabin gets the chance to go on a camping overnight. Summer Samplers go on acookout. Each cabin picks their menu, packs their camping and personal gear, and canoes orbackpacks to their site.Campsite Options include:Pioneer PointOn the north end of Icaghowan’s island ina beautiful stand of Red Pines right on theedge of the lake.Yurt CampsiteOverlooking Pine Bay, this 20 ft. diameterround platform tent has a clear plastic domein its ceiling to watch the stars at night.Tree House CampsiteThis 600 square foot tree house is built insix sturdy oak trees on a ridge overlookingLake Wapogasset. Campers will cook theirmeals and sleep in the trees.Sunset CampsiteAlong the ridge of the eastern shore of PineBay, this site gives a spectacular view of thesunset.Sunrise CampsiteNestled right along the shore of Turtle Bay ina stand of big White Pines.Wigwam CampsiteA peaceful site at the edge of two differingecosystems.Lower Secret, Upper Secret, andSucker CampsitesThese remote secluded campsites on the farnorth and south ends of Lake Wapogassetare reserved for older camper cabins.Technical Tree Climbing HouseFor older camper cabins, this cabin perchedon the top of poles among the trees,requires climbing equipment and belayers toaccess. A very private campsite.<strong>2013</strong> Highlights. New cabin activities will include Carpet balland games like Giant Jenga.. The age for Two-Week Horse Camp has beenchanged to 10–15.. The age for Pioneer and Challenger RiverCanoe Trips has been changed to 13–15.. The age for the Work Leadership Camp hasbeen changed to 15–17.. The Junior Leaders program has beenrevamped and renamed Teen Adventure Camp.The program will include more activities, morehigh ropes and low initiatives programs, moreopportunities to start learning how to leadactivities, and more overnight adventures.Teen Adventure Camp will be for campersages 13–15.• A Counselor in Training program has beendeveloped that will focus on the skillsnecessary to be a Camp Counselor. Each daywill follow the daily schedule (as listed).Girl’s Unit (female campers) goes on itsovernight. Boy’s Unit (male campers) hasits special Unit Campfire.Tuesday: Boy’s Unit goes on its overnight.Girl’s Unit has its special Unit Campfire.Wednesday: All-Camp Game (e.g.“Capture the Flag” or “Predator/Prey”)Talent Show/Campfire.Thursday: Special Theme Day. ClosingCampfire with Cabin Skits. Cabin ClosureCeremony.Friday: Last day of activities.Campers pack-up, have a picnic lunchand participate in the Camp FarewellCeremony.
