<strong>Minutes</strong> of the <strong>Alberta</strong> Regional Committee Meeting of April 19, <strong>2010</strong> Page 21. The Chair welcomed all and the traditional round table introductions followed.2. The Meeting Agenda was approved on a motion by Paul Zubick and seconded by GerhardZmatlo3. The minutes of the Feb. Meeting were approved on a motion by Randy Alford and seconded byShawn Watson4. The Financial report was presented and approved on a motion by Ed Cote and seconded by AllanWillis5. U of A ChairFurther discussion took place on the pro’s and con’s with regards to establishing a Chair for theU of A. A dead line was set for completion of a survey to indicate the type of support we willhave for this project.6. The G. L. Kulak scholarship recipient was announced as being Joseph Stankevicius. The awardwas presented following the meeting.7. A.) Report on The Steel WorkshopThe responses received were by far positive and most stated they would attend another likeday. Almost all the Partners expressed interest in being involved in any future projects .B.) Steel DayThis was introduced as a day to present our industry by opening our doors to the consulting andeducational sectors in all areas. This is a joint venture with the AISC which ran a most successfullprogram last year. More info will follow.C.) AGMWe approved inviting 6 guest couples for Fri. And Sat.Funding has reached $95 Thousand. Theeducational sessions all set for Thurs. And Sat. as well as the addition of the Richmond Ovalpresentation on Sat. am8. Detailers ReportThe QPP program has been delayed till 2012.The manual rewrite is complete however the sketches have to be redone and funding has beenapproved for this. Completion is set for Dec.<strong>2010</strong>. Work still hard to get. Lots of offshoredetailing at low prices9. Membership CommitteeAwaiting new brochures. Producing a list of potential new members10. Info SharingThis is an idea to share positive experiences with all companies. Each meeting one member willshare an experience. The secretary will choose a company prior to the meeting11. Safety‐WCB RatingsDon Oborowski pointed out that our industry rating is the 3 rd worst in the country.
