Organised by the Cavan and MonaghanSports Partnership through their Sports Inclusion Programme,it catered for children aged 5-12 years with various disabilitiesand their siblings.27 year old Ennis man Ronan Kildea has prospered in 2sports over the past 4 years. Ronan who has Cerebral Palsy isa keen Manchester United supporter. Ronan has been part ofEnable <strong>Ireland</strong>’s Boccia Team that competes in the NationalBoccia League annually. Recently Ronan has been using anBoccia game towards Irish team selection in the future.Boccia is not the only sport Ronan has excelled at. Ronanis also part of the Shannonside Rangers Powerchair FootballTeam. Following recent National League and Cup competitionsRonan was one of two clubs players to be selectedfor Irish National squad trials where only 20 players werechosen for trials.While only being involved in these sports for a short timeRonan has continued to improve rapidly. Here’s hoping itwon’t be too long before Ronan dons the Green of <strong>Ireland</strong>.If you would like more information please contact James on065-6865434 or james@claresportspartnership.ieand was supported by coaches from four of the country’sleading sporting organisations the GAA, FAI, Ulster Rugbycoaches delivering activities such as Bowling, ParachuteGames, Aerobics/Dance, Tai Chi and Multisport games. Eachactivity gave the kids an opportunity to play a sport theymight never have tried otherwise. Many of the children whoparticipated in the camp went away with a new enthusiasmin furthering their participation in the indoor and outdoorsports that they had tried.There was a very positive response to the camp over the twodays with both children and parents enjoying the activitiesthat were provided.
