County Collections DivisionGlen B. Gainer III, <strong>West</strong> <strong>Virginia</strong> <strong>State</strong> AuditorDuring FY <strong>2011</strong>, the <strong>State</strong> Auditor, in accordancewith WV Code §11A-3-34, appointed a specialdeputy commissioner of delinquent andnonentered lands to conduct and transactbusiness in all fifty-five (55) counties.Representatives of the Auditor’s <strong>Office</strong> conductedland auctions, as required. In addition, sales ofindividual tracts or lots occurred, provided thatthe property involved was offered for salepreviously and received no bid, or that a previouspurchaser did not follow through with therequirements of obtaining a deed.<strong>Office</strong>, only 1,517, or approximately 0.86%,remains with no action taken on them.To date, 168,317, or approximately 95.16% of thetracts or lots that have been certified for sale bythe <strong>State</strong> Auditor’s <strong>Office</strong>, have been redeemed,deeded or dismissed.Of the 176,882 individual tracts or lots that haveever been certified for sale by the Auditor’s<strong>2011</strong> ANNUAL REPORT WVSAO.GOV Page 45
