3Introduction.The <strong>Linde</strong> Engineering Division is a leading internationalmanufacturer of capital goods and equipment.<strong>Linde</strong>´s areas of activity cover design and constructionof turnkey industrial plants together with a full rangeof engineering work for process plants. To date, theEngineering Division has built nearly 3,800 plants andhas numerous patents registered in the <strong>Linde</strong> name.Extensive engineering know-how accopanied by manyyears of experience in project management and as ageneral contractor qualify the Engineering Divisionas an expert partner in international plant construction.


4Packaged air separation plants.Packaged air separation plants are modulardesigned plants for the production of up to13,000 Nm³/h oxygen (GOX and LOX), up to30,000 Nm³/h nitrogen (GAN and LIN) andargon (GAr and LAr). The plant modules areworkshop pre-fabricated to a maximum extent.GOX 3000for production of 3,000 Nm³/h GOXin Rauha, FinlandGOX 6000 Arfor production of 6,000 Nm³/h GOXin Shlobin, BelarusGOX 9000 Arfor production of approx. 9,000 Nm³/h GOXin Hwasung, South Korea


6Features of packaged plants.Plant designs are created with the use of advancedengineering tools including process calculationand modelling with the <strong>Linde</strong> in-housedeveloped OPTISIM simulation program as wellas 3D CAD modelling (including isometric andmaterial list generator for plant design andmodel review).Control equipment is ready installed in containersproviding “plug and play” facilities. The highestquality standards are achieved through the applicationof a stringent quality system in accordancewith ISO 9000 for engineering design and manufacturing.Erection and start-up time is minimised throughthe delivery of completely pre-packaged andtested units (i.e. air compressor, refrigerationunit, molecular sieve valve skid and cold boxunits). 8In-house manufacturingof key components.One of our main workshops close to Munich, GermanyThe in-house capability to manufacture essentialplant components is a contributing factor to why<strong>Linde</strong> is regarded to be a first class supplier andpreferred vendor for air separation plants.Decades of experience in the field of cryogenicprocess plant design are the basis for state-ofthe-arttechnology in the assembly of packagedair separation plants.<strong>Linde</strong> manufactured key components such asplate-fin heat exchangers, packings and columnsare the foundation for long-term, trouble-freeoperation of a <strong>Linde</strong> air separation plant.Aluminium plate-fin heat exchanger Packings Tray columns


9Pre-fabricated equipmentIn-house manufactured components such asplate-fin heat exchangers and columns are installedto self-supporting steel casings. Thesizes of the cold boxes are designed for roadtransportation and site handling is facilitated.Other modules such as molecular sieve valves,cryogenic pumps are installed onto skids to themaximum practical degree for pre-fabricationand testing.The plant control system together with operatorstation(s) and analyzing equipment are suppliedin an air-conditioned container, ready-cabledand shop-tested with the configuration of theDCS already installed.A separate shop-assembled container is suppliedfor all electrical medium voltage switchgears,step-down transformers and low-voltage switchgearsincluding VFD´s for pumps and other electricalequipment.All above mentioned plant modules and skidsare equipped with remote I/O modules for easybus connection.This high degree of pre-fabrication and testingresults in short erection periods with minimizedstart-up times.Pre-fabricated molecular sieve valve skidPre-fabricated and workshop-tested control and substationcontainer including cabinets, power equipment,operator station and analyzers.Packaged unit cold box
