Replace high water requirement vegetation, such as grass, with low to no water vegetation.
Accomplishing this task will require a thorough investigation of the park system in order to identify
potential areas to be converted without negatively affecting community usage.
Baseline Update Process
A report will be published annually updating the County’s progress towards the established goals. The
annual report will contain updates on the dynamic indicators, providing information on
accomplishments and citing any necessary adjustments to strategy as a result of unsatisfactory
performance. The static indicators will be reported every 3 years in the annual report document.
Critical analysis of dynamic goals and strategies on an annual basis will ensure that issues of
sustainability are continually at the forefront of importance in Los Alamos County, guiding the
community toward a brighter future.
