On the left side of the centralstructure is an exquisite temple of BhagwanBuddha with walls having fresco paintingsdepicting his life and teachings. The wallsand upper gallery of the central structurehave been beautified with numerouspaintings of breath-taking charm whichproject fundamental teachings of the AryanDharma. The paintings have been done byknown artists from Jaipur while experiencedmasons again from Jaipur are responsiblefor the sculptured panels.All Hindus, following different branches ofHindu (Arya) Dharma, namely, Sanatanists(including Harijans), Arya-SarnajisrsBuddhists, Sikhs, Jains, etc. are welcometo participate in the daily worship, Satsangand Kirtan held in the Temple inperfect harmony and mutual good-will,according to the best traditions of theTemple.To provide accommodation to pilgrims anddevotees from outside Delhi, there is aTEMPLE INDIADharmasala in the temple which has anumber of rooms. The rooms on the firstfloor are reserved for foreigners whocome to the temple with a view tolearning Hindu Religion or Sanskrit andHindi languages. The temple also has awell-equipped library and a readingroom.The back-side of the temple adjoiningthe ridge has been developed as anartificial mountainous landscape.<strong>In</strong>draprastha Vatika has caves, waterfalls,fountains and canopies, besidesVyayamshala, Natyashala andYagashala, All these present a beautifulspectacle.Thousands of visitors and devotees paya visit to the temple every day, exhibittheir devotion to the idols of various Godsand Goddesses and pay homage to thedifferent aspects of Sanatan Dharma. Alarge number of foreigners from differentcountries with diverse faiths, tastes andviews visit the temple with reverence anddevotion. Needless to say that with thepassage of time, Birla Mandir has acquireda coveted position of national andinternational significance. Here, anunprecedented assembly of devotees iswitnessed on festivals and functions ofreligious, social, cultural, national andhistorical importance, such as Shri KrishnaJanmashtami, Shri Ram Naumi, BasantPancharni, <strong>In</strong>dependence Day and RepublicDay. On such occasions, huge multitudesof devotees fill the roads right from thecrossing of Punchkuian Road to theroundabout of Talkatora Road covering anarea of about 4-5 kilometres.223
