Workshops are especially effective when pairedwith an Artist-in-Residence program, allowing the workof our teaching artists to continue in the school,at home and in the community, longafter the program ends.WorkshopsUrban Gateways offers hands-onworkshops for educators and familiesthat focus on how to successfullyembrace and integrate the arts intothe classroom, the community andthe home.Educators &AdministratorsUrban Gateways is an approvedprovider of professional developmentthrough the Illinois State Board ofEducation. Through these intensiveworkshops, teachers, principals andschool administrators expand theirknowledge of the arts and learn howto build the arts into their teachingstrategies and curriculum.Parent, Family & CommunityUrban Gateways offers workshopsdesigned to cultivate parental andcommunity involvement by providingparticipants with strategies toincorporate the arts into everydaylife. Family and CommunityWorkshops offer an opportunity foradults and children to engage inthe artistic process together.
