-37-20.2 Every person who contravenes any provision of this <strong>By</strong>-<strong>law</strong> or an order issuedpursuant to section 20.6 of this <strong>By</strong>-<strong>law</strong> is guilty of an offence and uponconviction, subject to the penalties and sanctions provided by provincial <strong>law</strong> forsuch an offence.20.3 Where a person has been convicted of an offence, the court in which theconviction has been entered and any court of competent jurisdictions thereaftermay, in addition to any other remedy or penalty provided for by <strong>law</strong>, make anorder prohibiting the continuation or repetition of the offence by the personconvicted.20.4 Where a sign is erected or displayed on, over, partly on, or partly over propertyowned by or under the jurisdiction of the City, such sign may be removedimmediately by the City without notice.20.5 Where a sign is erected or displayed in contravention of this <strong>By</strong>-<strong>law</strong>, the ChiefBuilding Official or his designate may immediately pull down or remove any signthat he determines constitutes a safety hazard or concern.20.6 Where a sign erected on private property does not comply with this <strong>By</strong>-<strong>law</strong> or apermit issued under this <strong>By</strong>-<strong>law</strong>, the Chief Building Official or his designate, mayby order, require the owner to bring the sign into conformity in the manner andwithin the time specified in the order.20.7 Any order required under this <strong>By</strong>-<strong>law</strong> may be given by:(a)(b)(c)personal service upon the party being served, orprepaid registered mail sent to the last address of the party being served,shown on the records of the City, orprominently posting a copy of the order either on the sign in respect ofwhich the order is given, or on the land upon which the sign is located.20.8 If the owner does not comply with an order given under this <strong>By</strong>-<strong>law</strong> within thetime specified in the order, the Chief Building Official or his designate may orderthe owner to remove the sign and restore the property and building in the mannerand within the time specific in the order.20.9 Any order required under this <strong>By</strong>-<strong>law</strong> may be given by:
