Exam EntryEntry for the MPhys Part C exam is at theend <strong>of</strong> 4 th week <strong>of</strong> Hilary Term (choice <strong>of</strong>Major Options and a project title). Specificdetails will be published by the Examiners.The Examination Regulations provides guidancefor students with special examinationneeds. “... Candidates willbe required to <strong>of</strong>fer three units in Physics orPhilosophy, chosen in any combination fromthe lists for Physics and for Philosophy. Eachunit has a weight <strong>of</strong> 1⅓ for the purposes <strong>of</strong>the Finals algorithm, giving a total weight11½ for Parts A, B and C.A unit in Physics consists <strong>of</strong> either a writtenpaper on a Physics Major Option, or a projectreport on either advanced practical work orother advanced work. The Physics MajorOptions and the Projects are those specifiedon page 24 and in the MPhys Projects <strong>Handbook</strong>2012-2013. Syllabuses for the PhysicsMajor Options are given in Appendix G.A unit in Philosophy consists <strong>of</strong> one <strong>of</strong> thepermitted philosophy papers together witha submitted essay on a topic from the paper,or a philosophy thesis.
